The Loom So after some shaping with the saw and drawknife I was able to transform some of the Tenger's gift into the Beater. I don't have pictures of that part.                                                                                                   * Here's the design using thread whose  thickness is the same as the thread I have been spinning. The warp is just string but the weft is some of our spun thread. The combs aren't part of the traditional backstrap loom of course, but they made stringing the loom much easier until I got used to it!  I've shaved down the beater a bit so that it works with the thinner thread;the twine toward the weaving holds a stick against the top of the threads so they don't fall out of the comb while the twine on the outside is tied to the backstrap. please click here to continue                                                                                                                                                           * courtesy of A Luminous Diamond (Bright) Crystal Show productions.
