Here's the clay that has just arrived for the sculpture of Tara Drolma. Wow! That color is incredible but I'd better order some more though as this isn't anything like the clay we've been using so far! We'll use it in another study. As I mentioned I've begun working on the torso but there's a lot to do yet. What I'm doing now is putting on a lot of clay fairly quickly to establish the "gesture" as it is sometimes called, the overall pose and movement of the peice. At the same time I'm trying to get the proportions set and block out major body structures . This basically means I'm pushing around a lot of clay until the sculpture looks good! Anyway, we'll work on the head a bit more while we wait for the clay to arrive.
