More work on the sculpture ofTara Drolma!  Here I'm beginning to create the rocks!  We can see the difference in how I'm placing the clay and how I am working to expand the shapes beyond the stand beneath the figure.




I think much of sculpture, and in fact any creative effort,  has to do with seeing beyond the structural framework that is there and not allowing it to interfere with the inner vision. It is something Tibetans have to do every day of their lives in occupied Tibet and is yet another of the abilities that has enabled them to survive.
